Randall is not the only one to be held accountable for this. The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to consider the Senate’s long-awaited report on Wednesday, and the Justice Department has said it plans to hold hearings on the issue.
“Sen. Burr was one of the most vocal opponents of the Justice Department’s policy of keeping the Department of Justice in the dark about the scope of its criminal investigation of White House staffers, and the fact that he had an interview with the Justice Department’s inspector general in which he said he would have a firm understanding that there was no collusion between the White House and the U.S. government,” said John Cook, a spokesman for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
A White House spokesperson declined to comment
